This presentation focuses on the reasons for using FPGA prototyping and enhancing it with a massive visibility infrastructure. It reviews the features and qualities expected by such a layer and how it can be concretely implemented. It shows why the usual incumbent tools from FPGA vendors and EDA companies do not match well with the complexity of modern chips and IPs.
