Speaker: Jinsong Zhao

Jinsong Zhao is the founder and President of Lorentz Solution, Inc. Lorentz Solution, Inc provides the most advanced electromagnetic design platform for IC and 3DIC designs, with 3D fullwave DC-mmWave-TeraHz accuracy. Before Lorentz, Jinsong spent about 5 years at Cadence Design Systems. Jinsong received BS/MS from Tsinghua University at Beijing and PhD at UC Santa Cruz. He also has an MBA from UC Berkeley.

Abstract: 
Electromagnetic simulation capabilities have been steadily advancing from serving traditional RF CMOS design to today's mmWave and teraHz designs commonly seen in 5G, photonics and high-speed designs. In order to reliably EM design and EM sign off those challenging circuits, the true 3D and fullwave accuracy are required to cover the broadest frequency range we call DC-mmWave-TeraHz. We will explain the EM engine to achieve such goals and the basic EM knowledge framework a user needs to have in order to realize the accuracy the tool provides.
